Recreation & leisure activities

Grab your Mentor, pack your camera and get out and about to seize the day.
New experiences in different contexts help us build capabilities, self-esteem and social confidence. Activities provide opportunities to celebrate achievements and they’re great for general health and well-being too.
Activities and disability are not incompatible. With adaptations and the help of our qualified Mentors, you could safely kayak, fish, hike or surf, chill at the movies or cheer on your favourite sports team.
Our NDIS support workers can assist you to do the things you love, including:
Sporting events
Fitness activities
Theme parks
Cinema
Community markets
Live music & theatre events
Museums, galleries & cultural events

Short-term accommodation & respite care

Reset. Connect. Recharge. And enjoy some ‘me time’.
Sometimes we need a change of scenery and a break from the routine. A short stay away gives you the chance to try new things, make new friends or learn new skills. And it gives your family or primary carers time to rest and recharge.
We’ve taken Participants on amazing trips, including:
Kim, who visited the Sunshine Coast to visit Australia Zoo and the Sea Life Aquarium.
Dow, whose hair and makeup were done for a girls' night out in Mermaid Beach.
Torey, who had a week away at Mantra Coolangatta gathering art supplies to make dream catchers.
Al, who spent four nights at Tallebudgera Creek, hiking, beach walking and relaxing by the pool.

Adventure camps

Enjoy a literal and metaphorical breath of fresh air.
Fancy fun-filled experiences and social connection in a safe and supportive setting? Nature is a great stress reliever, and outdoor adventures powerfully affect our confidence and well-being too.
Our 2-3 night sleep-away camps bring Participants and Mentors together in stunning outdoor locations for kayaking, orienteering, fishing, crystal hunting, cooking and more. What you do is your choice*, but all activities are designed to challenge, promote growth and development, and above all - bring joy.
*Toasting marshmallows around the campfire isn’t obligatory - but highly recommended.

We believe communities are for everyone.

Champion Mentors truly live by their name.

We were seeking a local trusted NDIS service provider to help our son achieve his personal goals, interests in life, connection to the community and have heaps of fun along the way – like his regular adventures kayaking and fishing with his Mentors.
Champion Mentors truly live by their name; a team of Mentors that are highly qualified to deliver a range of services, and as parents, we are always at ease knowing they have strict policies about health and safety.

Job well done!

It takes a lot to get an emotional reaction from my 14-year-old son Danny. When he came home from his first outing he had a huge smile on his face. (Job well done). Next time out (fishing trip) an even bigger smile, and stories about the big one. (Job very well done!)

Champion Mentors has made a very positive impact on us.

My husband has early onset Alzheimer’s and really enjoys his weekly outing with Champion Mentors. He goes on hikes and bush walks with his Mentor who provides safe and stimulating activities for him.
He really benefits not only from the physical activity but also the friendly, caring company of the staff. He looks forward to his outings and is always happy when he returns.

A team who model the great attributes of respect, health, humour and self-confidence.

I’m the parent of two boys who love their outings and activities, and I am thrilled to have them supported by a team who model the great attributes of respect, health, humour and self-confidence.
The team particularly understand young adults who struggle with identity and disability, and this is a gap that has long been unfilled in the disability space.
I cannot recommend Champion Mentors highly enough!
